Things we adore about Omaha
Omaha has lots of opportunities to keep you busy on the weekends – and weeknights if you'd like. We have everything from popular attractions such as the Henry Doorly Zoo or great places to find a bite to eat in the Old Market. Whether you are looking to catch a play or visit the Farmer's Market – Omaha has it all!

Sure, Nebraska has the reputation for vast cornfields and a flat landscape – but we're not as flat as you think we are. Just look near the Missouri River to our area's bluffs or further out to Western Nebraska. If you are looking to explore our area - here are a few of our favorite outdoor activities.
Mahoney State Park is just a short drive from Omaha and offers something for everyone. If you are looking to rent a cabin or go for a hike – there's plenty of options.
Looking for a historical hike? You can follow in Lewis and Clark's footsteps by visiting one of these many parks in Nebraska.
A great way to cool off in the summer is at the Niobrara River. This Northern Nebraska river is a popular place to canoe or even "tank" down the river.
Here is where Omaha really shines - we were recently ranked by Forbes Magazine as one of the top places for business and careers. We're proud of our low unemployment rate and stable economy.
We already knew Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo is the best in the world, but now it's been nationally ranked by TripAdvisor.com. Just another reason why we are proud to make Omaha home.
In another national survey, CNN Money ranked Papillion, Nebraska as one of the top places to live. Our great schools, safe streets and low unemployment make Papillion and surrounding areas a reason we stay in the area!
Omaha continues to gain national recognition, this time for being ranked second in the Milken Institute's list of "Best Cities for Successful Aging," which is based on 84 quality-of-life factors — many of which affect younger people, too.
Omaha was recently on the list "Top City for First-Time Homebuyers" bySmart Asset. We were ranked as their sixth top city in the country. They graded on three factors: affordability, accessibility and stability.
